St. Nikolaus Cathedral

Dom Heiliger Nikolaus
Church, cathedral, basilica, pilgrimage church and minster
The Cathedral in Feldkirch was rebuilt at this site after having burned down three times. In 2005 the Gothic nave, with the entire inventory of precious artifacts, was restored with its ribbed vaulting and windows by Martin Häusle.

The original architect was Hans Sturn, who is documented in the inscription on the nave vaulting. Among the especially impressive features are the richly colored windows, which fill the cathedral with a diffuse light. Throughout the day, as the sun takes its course, new facets of colors appear.
