State Hospital in Rankweil

State Hospital in Rankweil

Looking over to the opposite side, we see the State Hospital in Rankweil. This clinical center is specialized in health, healing and recovery for people with neurological, psychological and social disabilities. A multitude of therapies are offered here to help people on their way towards coping with life's problems.

During the period of National Socialism, this was a place of horror. Of its 500 patients from Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein about approximately 330 were cruelly murdered in the euthanasia centers of Hartheim and Hall in Tyrol.
